Very cute cottage in a fantastic location. Positive: Great location and suprisingly spacious. Nice terrace overlooking the water and a comfy bed. Becky was lovely and check-in was smooth. Negative: Sofa was a little uncomfortable and would have been nice to have some dishwasher tablets etc on arrival.

Lovely stay in the heart of Old Leigh Positive: Beautifully decorated and furnished. Very clean. Liked that there’s a tv in sitting room and main bedroom. Yes it is busy at weekends and sunny days you could easily park at Leigh Foundry Carpark for free from 6pm but set your alarm to remind you to pay for parking at 8am (we forgot one morning and got a parking ticket 🙄- traffic warden is very vigilant!) Negative: Would have liked some wine glasses- somehow wine in a tumbler is not the same (we did ask to borrow two wine glasses from the Peterboat). Would also suggest a laundry basket (maybe a collapsible one?) and a glass Pyrex bowl.

Great, but with some caveats Positive: Truly stunning cottage, beautiful and high quality finish in a great location . Everything was very comfortable and just finished to a beautiful standard. Lovely bathroom products are provided, and the location is great during the day. I felt it was well priced for the time of year Had it been a couples break, I would have been very pleased with the accommodation. However, I was with our 10 month old (crawling/walking), and my review reflects that. I think it's important to provide this context to future guests. Negative: - additional costs of £30 per stay and check-in admin that are not typical for Booking.com and were not stated in advance - incorrect check-in information (wrong key code given) meant we couldn't easily get into the accommodation at 10pm. However, the point of contact resolved it efficiently, but it was an annoying start to our holiday. - Great location in the day, but awful at night. Leigh-on- is full of drunk people, and outside the cottage was like the malaga strip until 2am - cottage is not child friendly. Mostly due to the age of the property, which is part of the charm, the windows in the single room are not safe for children at all. None of the blinds have safety hooks, and the stairs are steep. The travel cot linens didn't fit, so it wasn't safe to use as it meant loose sheets in the bed. The stair bannister wasn't safe to use and needs to be affixed properly . - no pint of milk in the fridge felt a little stingy given there are no small shops in close to the cottage, so a few provisions would have been welcomed for late check-ins. - very warm, unable to find a fan. - parking is impossible during the day in the summer, we couldn't get a space until 11pm.
